I was so nervous talking to a man that I have admired for twelve years of my life. The man who let me know as a child that miserable things happen and that’s perfectly normal. The same man who helped me overcome my fear of reading after being screamed at by my teacher that I would never be able to read anything my grade level, only to have a college level reading skill by the end of sixth grade. My motivation to write and keep doing whatever I want because no matter who tries to bring me down, I know that I can overcome it just like I did those years ago.
I blushed and stuttered, barely getting out a ‘this may sound dorky, but thank you for everything you’ve done for me’. I hadn’t told him the tragedies that had gone on in my life in specifics. I thanked him for giving me a chance when so many adults did not and how I found it ironic that I still love a series about miserable children when I practically went through the same thing. And even though I’ve heard ‘I’m sorry’ so many times about every death, every terrible thing that has happened, I have never heard one so sincere.
Here I was beating myself up about failing to convey myself in front of this wonderful man. How I missed my chance. Putting my things away, I grabbed my book and peeked inside to see this. And I began to cry.
This is a man who I have never met before. A man I have only dreamt of meeting since I was very small. But yet in one small sentence he has managed to move me entirely. A sentence that has needed to be said for a long time now.
‘To Bridget, who has suffered enough.’
This makes me wanna cry

The consistency with which they do this in the movie is just amazing, too. I really appreciate that they kept this nuanced realism, and they didn’t make a big deal of it either. It’s just there, as a consequence of what Hiccup did, quietly in the background. Realism and deftness. Perfection. Marks of what Hiccup did to Toothless, but of what Toothless forgave him for too.
Also, if you look closely at those bola ropes, they’re stained with blood.

Basically an alternate universe where Jack and Hiccup are delinquents. The idea came from my classmate’s former classmates who were delinquents for very tragic reasons.
Yankee is a term used to describe a delinquent in Japan, so they’re in Japan.
They’re not actually delinquents, they’re just a duo who proclaimed themselves as guardians of their school, determined to beat up anybody who bothers their schoolmates (who are fears them rather than respect them). Jack and Hiccup call themselves the Guardians, while others call them the Two Deaths (Jack is called White Death while Hiccup is called Red Death). Since students are so afraid of them, they don’t know that these two are actually very nice people.

No marriage required.I have to say, Charlotte was one of the most surprising things about this film. They could have made her annoying but instead make her a very funny character. They could have made her a spoiled brat, but while she is a bit spoiled, instead they made her a very caring friend and pretty much a sister to Tiana. They could have made her a bland character just someone for Naveen to have to marry, but instead they gave her an actual personality and made her likable. Finally, this scene.
Even though it’s obvious that to Charlotte, finding true love is her dream, her ‘restaurant’, she is more than willing to give it up for her friend. She doesn’t even take a few moments to think it over. Her and Tiana have such a strong friendship, she would rather let her friend - who has found true love, not just a simple crush or anything like that - live happily ever after herself than marry a prince. And afterwards, she stays positive about it, not only because her best friend is happy, but she’s knows she’ll find her prince someday too, she just has to wait a little longer, and that’s perfectly fine with her.
Probably one of the best side characters and role models in the Disney canon.
For all the changes and stuff that production had to go through, Charlotte has to be the best thing to come out of it.
